Best and Brightest Show and Sale

October 16, 2008 to November 18, 2008

The Scottsdale Artists' School presents its 24th annual Best and Brightest Juried Fine Art Show and Sale, from October 16 through November 18. The show features more than 100 paintings, drawings and sculpture by 300 artists. Meet the artists' at a reception on Thursday, October 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Contemporary and Classic

November 6, 2008 to November 30, 2008

Wilde Meyer Gallery celebrates 25 years in Arizona with a group show titled Wilde Meyer, Contemporary and Classic for 25 Years. The show opens November 6, and features works by Jacqueline Rochester, Linda Carter Holman, Charles Davison, Barbara Gurwitz, Timothy Chapman and Sherri Belassen. Meet the artists at an opening reception on Thursday, November 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. The show runs through November 30.

Fashion Hounds

November 6, 2008 to December 2, 2008

Colores by Wilde Meyer presents a group show titled Fashion Hounds, opening November 6. The show features the playful interpretations of man's best friend in the works of: Trevor Mikula, Lori Faye Bock, Sheridan Brown, Linda Carter Holman, and Mitch Henderson among others. Their works are on display until December 2.

Kaleidoscopic Colors of California

November 6, 2008 to December 7, 2008

Chroma Gallery presents a two-person show of landscape paintings by Paula Cameto and Susan Sarback beginning November 6. The show, titled Kaleidoscopic Colors of California, is on display until December 7.

Dallas Works

November 22, 2008 to January 24, 2009

The Norwood Flynn Gallery showcases new paintings of Dallas city landmarks by David Leonard. The show opens Saturday, November 22 and runs through Saturday, January 24, 2009. Meet the artist at an opening reception held on Saturday, November 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. All shows are free and open to the public.

Thunderbox Road

October 4, 2008 to April 20, 2009

Thunderbox Road is a traveling exhibit of 12 Thunderboxes showcasing the artistic talents of 12 of the top artists in the Hill Country. The artists who were invited to participate: David Querbach, Pamela Gardner, Nancy McGalliard, Ken and Donna Malson, Thom Evans, Rex Hausmann, Dotti Brundrett, C.J. Latta, Ben Beckendorf, Betty Rhodes and Greg Glowka, Gwendolyn Listerman and Charles and Tami Kegley. The 12-piece exhibit premieres on October 4th in Boerne on the banks of the Cibolo Creek. From Boerne the exhibit moves to the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram where it will be showcased for 3 weeks. It will travel the Hill Country through April of 2009; and on May 9, 2009, the Thunderboxes will be auctioned at the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville. Representatives from Hill Country Arts organizations will serve on the Judge's Panel, determining the $5,000 cash award for the Judge's Choice award. Ballots will be available while the Thunderboxes are on tour to determine the winner of the People's Choice Award, also a $5,000 cash award.
