Discover New Mexico

Only one state is called the Land of Enchantment. Some say it's a state of mind, others say or believe it is the vast beauty of the New Mexico landscape unlike any other. Not surprisingly, creative souls come and never leave. Inspired by all of their senses, they interpret their surroundings on canvas, in sculpted forms and film. Through cultural poetry, song and dance, a rhythm both ancient and new emerges. Icons such as Nicolai Fechin, Georgia O'Keeffe and DH Lawrence were insatiably intrigued in their journey to discover New Mexico.

Fall is the most inviting time of the year. Across the state, art tours, festivals and Pueblo events celebrate the golden aspen transition from summer into winter. Throughout the cities and mountain villages, soul stirring music beckons the listener. Tribal drums and songs of the Eight Northern Pueblos may be heard as well as the world class Chamber Music Festivals of Santa Fe, Taos and Angel Fire.

In the following pages, expect to be surprised by the unexpected. Galleries and artist studios of all sizes will unveil new works in receptions and tours which are unique to September. Some will be highly visible in major towns. Others will be nestled in the mountains with sweeping views of pastureland below. This is where the locals renew their creative spirit. Come and discover the enchantment of New Mexico.
